I like to call Maui, "My luxury adventure" because it has the best of both worlds with beautiful beaches to relax on & a full island of terrain to explore nature's fun.

Surf on Kaanapali Beach

While Hawaii is known as the "Surf Mecca of the USA", it's only right to get out on a board while you're visiting, or at least watch some locals tear it up! If you're a beginner, or maybe have some experience, Kaanapali is a great place to start along with many beaches on Maui's south side. The waves on Kaanapali can get a bit rough, so I recommend going on in the morning / early afternoon to experience the most calm conditions before tide picks up later in the day.

Snorkel at Molokini Crater

Molokini Crater is a Maui specialty and a top snorkel spot if you're willing to spend a little extra of your spending money. I would say if you're going to do any snorkel tour in Hawaii, this is the one to do! The crescent shaped volcanic caldera (of what remains from an eruption) is located just 3 miles off shore from Maui's southwest ports and includes 250 fish species and 38 types of coral. We have booked a couple tours with Calypso Maui and they never disappoint! Here's a quick look at your day on the catamaran:

After a short ride to the crater, you'll get to spend about 1-2 hours to snorkel at the crater where you'll see a wide variety of marine life and get this, the Calypso boat includes a jumping platform and slide to upgrade the fun out at sea. Then if the waters are clear, the captain will take you to turtle town for some time to swim amongst Maui's sea turtles! Just remember to stay at least 10 feet away so we don't disturb them!

Hike Twin Falls

About an hour and a half from Kaanapali beach, twin falls is a hike worth the drive! It is an easy, casual hike which leads you to two amazing waterfall locations. First, you will come across a more "typical" Hawaii waterfall with a strong current falling and gliding down some rocks into a pool. Next as you continue on with the hike, you will encounter more of a swimming-type bay. This stop was actually the most fun ( in my opinion) to climb the rocks and jump into the pool. It was just one of those atmospheres where everyone was having a good time taking turns jumping into refreshing waters and hyping each other up to take the plunge! Definitely a 10/10 adventure!
